Chances are you’ve seen the ads for the latest and greatest Internet Marketing software program that is suppose to help you make loads of money in short order. It seems more and more these offers can be found at every corner of the Internet. Or some marketing b.s. like that.
I’ve been making money online as an Internet Marketer for many years now. In that time, there has been thousands of programs that are suppose to help Webmasters. I’ve used a lot of software designed to make me money over the years. Some I bought, some was sent to me to try out by the designers. Out of all this software, I can say honestly that there has only been a few that I would pay for. To be quite frank, one does not need a lot of expensive software to make a lot of money online.
In fact, Google has some free tools that are better than a lot of the software on the market today. If you don’t want to shell out big bucks for software, give these free tools from Google a try.
The first free program I use is Google Trends. Google Trends is designed to track hot trends in web searches. This web based service tracks what is being searched for today.You can even track popular searches each hour through Trends. One you use this service a few times, it won’t take you long at all to figure out how profitable this service can be for you.
The second tool is one that is the most important one in my opinion if you want to make money online. It’s the Keyword Research Tool from Google. Ever since Google has allowed us a peek into their search data, this tool has become popular with many marketers. This tool shows the approximate number of times a keyword or keyword phrase has been searched for in Google’s search engine in the previous month. It also shows you how many advertisers are bidding on those phrases and how much they’re willing to pay for each click. After finding some hot trends with Google Trends, I use this tool to see how many searches there have been for the terms. This tool will also tell you how much per click advertisers are willing to spend. This is very important for those of you wanting to make money with Adsense.
Serious Webmasters will want to use Google’s Webmasters Tool program. Webmasters will find this tool helpful in tracking the performance of their websites. This tool does several things. The two most important ones in my opinion are that it shows you the top keywords your website ranks for plus it will show you how many backlinks your site has and how many backlinks each page has. This will help you know which keywords or keyword phrases your site needs optimized for.
Google Analytics is another tool you’ll need a Google account for. Google Analytics simply analyses the traffic to your site. Although too long to list here, Analytics is a full scale analysing program that gives you important data about your website. Analytics will tell you whether each visitor came from a website or search engine amoung other things. This information is critical when deciding on which keywords to optimize your website for or trying to decide which affiliate offers work and which ones don’t.
This goes to prove you don’t have to have large sums of money to be successful in Internet Marketing. These free tools from Google are all you need to track and optimize your site. You can take the money you save and outsource some of those boring chores of Internet Marketing that you hate to do, like writing articles!
