A while back I heard someone say that if you pay for advertisement in google then google will rank your website higher. This isn’t true, google won’t rank your website higher if you pay for advertisement, google has kept the sponsored listings separate to the search results and doesn’t give a website extra points for paying them advertisement. Even though google displays sponsored links on top of the main results it keeps the two sections different.
Google is a free website and has always been free, it has built up a very good reputation over the years and if people thought for a second that google took bungs to rank websites higher then there reputation would diminish pretty quickly.
Matt Cutts has also published a video on this matter and you will be able to find it by visiting youtube and typing in his name. Even though Matt can’t share any top secret tips he does however clear up a lot of question marks that webmasters have with the ranking algorithm and other important seo matters.
So to clear thing up, don’t worry about paying for a sponsored link in google as it wont help your search engine position, however paying for a sponsored link does have its benefits but I must stress it doesn’t effect your rankings.
