How to Check Your Inbound Links

To those of you who want to find out what sites are linking to you without buying software of using methods that only pull back a few links I will tell you how.

Firstly let’s talk about the free methods on how to check your inbound links. The first one is by using google’s “link:” element to pull back the sites linking to your website. The downside to this element is it has been designed to only pull back a couple of links at random. Some people think the links google pulls back must be the most favourable ones or the ones that hold the most relevance, well their wrong, the links that google displays have been picked at complete random and google will even show the untrusted sites linking to you as well making it harder for competitors to find out each others link building pattern.

The best and most comprehensive list of urls linking to your site can be found by going to google webmaster tool section. Google displays back every single link linking to your site, even the poor quality untrusted websites. This list is probably the best list around, however it doesn’t display any other information except the raw links that are displaying your links.
