The Key To A Popular Blog Is Down To Distribution

There’s many factors to consider when creating a popular blog that you want people to come back to. For example the popular term thrown around a lot is “unique content”, you need to create fresh unique content to keep your viewers coming back and to build a reputation in google.

I’m not here to talk about unique content, I’m here to talk about what you do after you have written your unique content.

To build a popular blog you must first of all have enough content to keep your viewers busy, not only that but you need to cover relevant and important topics in your niche to get people interested in your blog, but first you need to attract those visitors.

I personally suggest all types of link building when promoting your articles as all it takes is a few people to mention your article and you’ll have the start of your returning traffic. I like to use social bookmarking sites as a first port of call when promoting a new article as social bookmarking sites are known for sending you traffic instantly, you also get people going through the social bookmarking sites looking for new topics to mention on there blog and 9 times out of 10 they will link to you.

I find that social bookmarking sites produce some of the best traffic you could possibly want for your blog. I regularly submit to digg.com, reddit.com, stumble and a couple of others, to make life easier people have created toolbars for web browsers that have a large range of social bookmarking buttons which makes bookmarking your content a lot easier and quicker.

Also consider submitting to feed to RSS sites as these can help create backlinks and get your content seen by more people.

Another way to build a following on your blog is to supply them with free useful resources like webmaster tools, free software or free services ect, having good quality content/resources means your viewers will be returning to the same page as it contains high quality material. Having free resources isn’t the same as writing articles, a free resource is another way of defining your business and giving you something better than your competitors.

I would also write articles about my blog and the content I have on offer and then submit those articles to various places like press release sites, article directories, guest writing, forums that allow it ect ect. This way I can get a lot more information out about my website and get it displayed on other sites that relate to my niche. Article writing and article directories are still in demand today, when you write for article directories its best to only go for the well known ones to get any real weight from it.

The more visitors that come to your site the more links you will get, never give up on your blog just try a different type of promotion.
